Victorian Ash Wellington/Collectors Chest
This is a very nice Victorian Arts & Crafts Wellington chest in excellent condition and unusual in being larger than usual and designed in ash.
It has a rectangular top above seven drawers of graduating depth each with original ornate brass handle stamped with the registration number Rd 322074 to the front, it also has a brass card holder to each drawer. There are hinged flaps to each side with a brass catch to the top & bottom of the left flap whilst the right flap originally had a lock. The whole piece stands on a plinth base.
Condition
This is in very good condition with a nice warm colour, there are drying lines across the grain to the top and a dark mark above the keyhole on the left flap, the lock and fastener have been removed and there are chips to the right edge of two drawers but these are hidden by the right flap.
If you have any questions or would like more photos please contact me as we are limited in the number of photos we can upload.
The overall dimensions at the largest points are approximately
Width 59cm (23 1/4in)
Depth 37cm (14 1/2in)
Height 111cm (43 3/4in)
The internal sizes of the drawers are

Please appreciate all our items are antique and as such may have minor scratches, marks, knocks, shrinkage splits signs of old woodworm, and minor losses to veneer, which combine with care and years of polishing to create an individual character and patina. We cannot describe each marks separately and therefore suggest you do take the time to request extra photos. We do offer a 14 day money back guarantee for UK purchases but cannot refund the return shipping cost.
