Antique Victorian 19C papier mache work sewing table.
Work antique tables with this kind of drop down mechanism are rare.
This is a lovely table, that is full of age and charm.
No loose joints or wobbles.
Simple design with lovely pedestal base.
No woodworm.
Would look amazing in the right location!
Overall maximum dimensions 50cm diameter (at top) x 73.5cmH.
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs and alterations, as is always the way and to be expected with genuine antique furniture. There are historic repairs to the base and feet, with a piece of plywood added to strengthen the base (all good and solid now). The giding decoration has almost worn off the top as one might expect through 150 years of use. There are two fitted quarter compartments, which both have very old fabric and are quite tatty.
