Very RARE early 19th century George III mahogany, heavy, weighted plate stand of a pleasing design. Rectangular base with ogee mould around the top and concave quarter round moulding around the base. Tall solid mahogany back rests which are nicely shaped at the top. Turned decoration to the top of the base with a slot in between.

Very nice cross grain flame mahogany veneers to the front face.

The stand is very heavy, the base obviously lead filled. There is a small slither of veneer missing on one corner otherwise it is in good condition for age.

SIZE The base is 16" wide by 3 1/2" deep and it stands 20" high in total
