Stunning very large Thai wall hanging,c1960. I purchased it from a couple who brought it back from Thailand in the early 1960s so its around 60 years old. It is beautifully decorated with a large central panel depicting a Thai temple dancer and a series of smaller panels depicting Elephants. The workmanship is amazing, it would have taken many weeks to complete. The whole surface area is intricately decorated in silk thread with inset material and stones, beads, pearls etc giving it a lovely 3D effect. As a consequence it is very heavy, around 3.1 kg. It has hanging loops at the top. Overall condition is very good with just a very few minor marks on the rear.
