This is a very striking and most unusual 19th century Giltwood chair in a very decorative faux bamboo design dating from around 1870. The chair has an Eastern influence to the design with trellis style turned bamboo rails and frieze and the most amazing stylised leopard pad feet that scroll out beautifully giving a great impression. The chair is sound in construction and firm of joint and has been recently reupholstered in an attractive bold, teal blue chenille fabric that compliments the piece. The chair is an imposing size also measuring 110 cms high 46 cms wide and 52 cms deep. The seat height is 50 cms.
