This Stratton powder compact is suitable for use with loose and pressed / solid face powder or as a handbag mirror.
An exceptionally beautiful unused boxed enamel Stratton 'Convertible' powder compact and matching enamel lipstick holder. These accessories are decorated with high quality lustrous cobalt blue enamel adorned with the palest pink magnolias. The original accessories are included. Both the compact and lipstick are in superb condition NOS (new old stock) and the original presentation box is very beautiful too. They are testimony to the high standards that ensured the Stratton brand was the most successful British brand of powder compacts. The presentation box is made from cream and gold high quality card and looks like it has spent the last fifty plus years sat in a cupboard. The presentation box is signed "Stratton". The box is designed to display the set and once open the lid forms into a stand that tilts up the lower case.
The images do not do this set justice. In person it is much more beautiful. For example the whole compact gleams - on image four the base is not catching the light owing to the position of the camera being used to get an over head shot.
This 1960s enamel Stratton "Convertible" powder compact comes with the original luxury silk and fabric puff, velour edged sifter and instruction leaflet. The mirror gives an excellent clear reflection. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The powder well wall bears the patent number "PAT. 64215". The base is decorated with the all over star design and the rectangular cartouche is signed "Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND". Gleaming new old stock condition!
Included with the adorable enamelled lipstick holder is the original instruction leaflet in the shape of a lipstick. Just like the powder compact this enamelled lipstick holder has never been used and it is in superb condition. The lipstick holder is signed "Stratton No 2 MADE IN ENGLAND".
The Stratton ' Convertible' powder compact measures 3" and weighs 96.1 grams.
The Stratton lipstick holder measures just over 2" and weighs 9.2 grams.
