A splendid 1950s blue enamel Stratton 'Princess' loose powder compact in super unused condition. This gorgeous compact mirror comes with the original presentation box and also the original pouch, signed puff and sifter. All hinges and clasps work perfectly. The inner lid is signed 'Stratton'. The gilt base is decorated with smooth tone gold stars. The whole item absolutely gleams! The makers wished to ensure that this accessory would look beautiful for many decades and so the final stages of manufacture involved the application of a coat of lacquer which prevent tarnishing. The compact will never need to be cleaned. Measures 3" and weighs 91 grams. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
