Unique Silver Thomas Russel Up and Down Liverpool

Unique Silver Thomas Russel Up and Down Liverpool P/W 1906
You’re bidding on a unique large silver open faced pocket watch by the famous maker Thomas Russell from Liverpool, Chester 1906.
This watch has just come back from my watchmaker and is therefore in a perfect working order. However, cannot guarantee accuracy as this watch is antique.
Dial: The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals, up and down dial at the twelve, nice blued steel hands and is signed: “Thomas Russel & Son 12 Church St Liverpool”
Movement: anchor movement is high quality and protected by a lovely high bevelled glass. It is signed: “Thos. Russell & Son, Makers to the Queen Victoria, Liverpool”. The movement is numbered: 110284.
Case: The watch is lying in a hallmarked silver open faced case. The cuvette has wholes to wind the up and down dial. The back of the case shows a free monogram.
Thomas Russell was listed as a watch manufacturer in 1848 in Liverpool, where the Russell Time O’Day watches were manufactured. By 1870 they were listed as makers to the Queen. They moved then to Slater Street and Holborn, and by 1877 in Church Street in Liverpool. From 1894 it seems that they were retail jewelers with branches in Liverpool and by the early 1900s at Manchester.
Signed: Th.Russell - Diameter:58mm - Weight: 187.3 - Circa:1906
