A beautiful burr walnut & marquetry inlaid Victorian Period chess/backgammon/work table. Having a rectangular top veneered in finely figured burr walnut with boxwood floral marquetry inlaid detail, swivelling and opens to reveal a chess and backgammon inlaid interior. The rectangular mahogany lined drawer with a fitted boxwood interior for sewing accompaniments, above a sliding marquetry inlaid burr walnut sewing box. The whole supported on turned column supports with swept acanthus carved cabriole feet, united by a turned stretcher. English circa 1860
