Lovely little early 19th.c. Welsh oak mule chest from Caernarfonshire c.1810. Flat (rather than panelled) top chest with two useful drawers in the base. Attractive front with six small oak panels with an applied moulding to around the edges. Oak drawer fronts with original brass knobs and inlaid diamond escutcheons. Deal panelled sides and back boards. Note the original bearers to the lid, notched into the top rail at the back of the chest to make a simple hinge. Good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
