Small English Bracket Clock - Viner , London
This is a beautiful English bracket antique clock of small size by the famous London makers Viner working from 158 New Bond Street , London dating from the last half of the nineteenth Century.
Charles Edward Viner was working from 1813 to 1869 and was one of the foremost makers of quality antique clocks in the Victorian era..
As can be seen by the images this clock is of small size which can fit anywhere in the home but what may not be immediately obvious is the outstanding overall quality of this antique clock.
No corners have been cut in this clocks manufacture.The case is made from solid mahogany on all sides and the canted corners are brass filled .The break arched gilded dial is particularly pleasing with deep relief engraving and a silvered engraved chapter ring bearing Viners name on plate.The original engraved side frets and silks are present.
The substantial double fusee gong striking movement is of the finest London quality and is signed and numbered by the maker ( illustrated ). It is in perfect working order
The overall condition is outstanding with all the original finish and patina being present.This clock has simply been carefully cleaned and waxed and requires no further work.It is ready to go straight into the home and will delight the most discerning client.
Of course the small size of this item makes it particularly attractive as it is only 16 tall to the top of the handle,10 wide and 8 inches deep.The dial is only 5 inches in diameter
