A very pretty 18th Century West Wales Oak Settle of desirable small proportions, being just 48" wide.
This beautiful little settle was an original piece from the Black Lion Hotel in New Quay which left with the previous owners in 2010. Situated near the fireplace it took pride of place and has lead an interesting life. The settle's box having been used to store kindling and firewood.
During his time living in New Quay the Welsh Poet Dylan Thomas spent much of his time in the Black Lion Hotel which became his favoured drinking hole, and this settle reputedly being a seat favoured by himself and his wife Catilin.
