Compact and striking , arts and crafts bookcase / desk by Shapland & Petter of Barnstable , in oak with stylised unpolished brass metalwork .This is in very good original condition / finish with all metalwork and handles present and original writing surface . All 3 locks are stamped and it comes with a working key . The strap hinges depicting stylised trees of life stand above repoussee hearts and continue down the 2 drawers and it has elaborate carrying handles to the sides .Shapland's R number is stamped on the back and it is illustrated in the Shapland archives .The pidgeon holed fitted interior is finished with a central mirror to the back . Lightly cleaned and waxed .
