Set of Eight Lancashire Spindleback Chairs
A very close matching set of 8 provincial Lancashire spindleback chairs. Made from ash and fruitwood, surely these are amongst the most attractive chairs from our heritage of cabinet making. Turned on a simple treadle lathe and made to a a very strong design, these chairs are as tough as when made, but with the added benefit of 200 years of patination Most of the seats were re-rushed probably 30 years ago and have now mellowed nicely. Tactile, strong and beautiful, what more could your country home require?
