Repeating Porcelain Alarm Carriage Clock
We are pleased to offer this very fine carriage antique clock of French clock made circa 1880
The pillared case is of unusual style but of course the appeal of this clock are the beautiful porcelain panels and dial which depict birds and partridges . The dial is signed by the retailer George C Shreve , San Francisco
As can be seen from the images the clock is in excellent condition and is in perfect working order having been recently serviced
The fine quality movement of 8 day duration strikes the hours and half hours on a called gong with a push repeat button on the top of the case.It also has an alarm facility (I inadvertently photographed the clock without the alarm set hand - it is now back on the clock) . It is numbered 1661 but bears no visible makers mark
The clock retains its original high quality lever escapement
The clock is 7 1/4 inches tall to the very top of the handle .It is 4 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches deep
I would describe the overall condition as excellent and ready to be displayed.
