Regency Rosewood Brass Inlaid Work Games Table with Reading Slope. The hinged reading slope top inlaid with brass stringing and petal inlaid corners also having removable book rest and ratcheted adjuster. This all pulls forward to reveal an open section inlaid with boxwood, ebony and tulipwood for back gammon. Flanked by bowed brass strung lids with brass galleries opening to divided sections. The front and back having brass inlaid petal escutcheons flanked by foliage inlays. An under slung pull out chequer board slide which, when in use slides into the top area when reading slope is removed. Brass buttons to the side corners and a double brass stringing around the lower edge. All on 'Lyre' shaped ends with cast brass leaf appliques to the knees. Sitting on cross platforms joined by turned stretcher and having brass button appliques to sides, front & back edges. On swept legs with brass claw castors.
