Rare Solid Silver Minaudiere / Bridal Clutch 1940s

This is an exquisitely beautiful & extremely rare fully hallmarked solid silver minaudiere in excellent condition. The dimensions of this superb vanity case mean that it is suitable as a bridal clutch or an impressive accessory for that special day / evening when only something unique will do.
This nécessaire was made in the 1940s & it is a high quality luxury item. The lid & base have the most beautiful hand engraved daisy form flowers & foliage. All the exterior case is engraved with such skill as to render the surface so that it will not show any fingerprints. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. Lift the lid to reveal an enchanting interior with a good mirror which gives an accurate reflection. There is a powder well and another compartment with a sprung clip - suitable as a calling card or paper money holder. The powder well lid is engraved with the same design as the lid and base - tiny daisy form flowers & foliage on a background of tiny engraved diamond shapes. In front of the mirror is a sprung comb holder.
This solid silver minaudiere / nécessaire measures 11.2 cm x almost 8.5 cm & weighs 258.7 grams.
