Rare Set of Eight Heals Antique Portcullis Dining Chairs

A wonderful, long set of Heals of London antique dining chairs, these really are the best quality that Heals ever produced. This Portcullis model of oak dining chairs were designed by Ambrose Heal around 1916 and the first ones made were probably exhibited at the Arts & Crafts Exhibition Society Exhibition held at the Royal Academy in October and November that year.
All eight are in amazing condition and are complete with clean milk chocolate coloured real leather drop in seats and have the original early Heals makers labels inset.
This set of Heals antique dining chairs comprises of six stand chairs and a pair of carver armchairs. They come with wonderful provenance, having been made for and used in the boardroom of the Cadbury Chocolate & Bournville Buildings in the Midlands. They are a superb model having the portcullis lattice back rests with a shaped top rail and the square, ovolo moulded legs are joined by a H stretcher. A fabulous rare set of Heals antique oak dining chairs that are in excellent, strong condition. MORE IMAGES ON OUR OWN WEBSITE.
