Here we have a very rare Cotswold school Arts and Crafts English Oak lambing rocking chair c1900. As you can see the chair has wonderful colour and patina. The chair takes inspiration from 18th century chairs of this type and is made in exactly the same way with pegged mortice and tenon construction. The difference is the beautiful chamfered edges to all panels and the carefully chosen timbers making for a typically Cotswold school look. The chair has the traditional drop in rope seat. The feather cushions are covered with William Morris Strawberry Thief tapestry fabric with a slightly greener ground. The fabric sits beautifully with the Oak colour. The top cushion can be flipped over to the rear if not required. The most stunning of Arts and Crafts chairs which is extremely comfortable in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 115 cm high 72 cm wide 77 cm deep.
