This is a rare hand painted leather Gothic panel dating from around 1870. The panel was probably part of a larger ecclesiastic screen originally. It is painted as three separate panels in deep warm hues and owes its styling to the Aesthetic Period, each panel being beautifully decorated with stylised foliate and floral design. The painting itself is in excellent condition, rare for a piece of this age.
This is an unusual and decorative and would add great style and warmth to a room.The panel measures 190 cms by 40 cms.
