A very good Acrylic on artists board entitled "By the Silverlough Shore" by the Irish artist Robert Dunleavey. This painting is a fine example of Irish folk art with its broad strokes and full colour, the spontaneity of subject and composition makes for a free flowing picture.Dunleavey is a well collected Irish artist who has been described as a follower of Markey Robinson now deceased best known for his naive fast shorthand style which along with his shawled women and white gables gave him his natural style and influenced Dunleavey.I have added a new wooden frame and pale slip this sets the picture of to its best advantage.
