superb example of a perpetual calendar antique clock in a black marble case.
the white enamel clock dial marked french city observatory paris with double balanced mercury weighted pendulum and is flanked either side by two thermometers, one reaumur, one centigrade & farenheight.
the perpetual calendar dial with moon phase astronomical antique clock.
metallic barometer by eugene bourdon and stamped e bourdon & richards patent paris gold medal exhibition 1849 and universal exhibition 1851 council medal.
Eugene Bourdon was maker of repute, he patented this type of guage in 1849 and it was widely used because of its superior accuracy, he famously exhibited his barometer in the 1849 paris exhibition and won gold medal and later in the crystal palace great exhibition of 1851 where he was awarded a council medal.
with some nibbles to the marble and lines to the time dial, this fine clock is in excellent working order throughout and really needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.
