A charming pair of antique Victorian circular walnut foot stools dating from circa 1880 by Rose & Hird. These attractive foot stools have moulded edges and are raised on four turned legs decorated with ebonised and gilt highlights. The circular tops are in their original pale blue needlework and floral beadwork upholstery. With brass makers labels underneath for “Rose & Hird Upholsterers & Cabinet Makers 4 Bishop St Stockton on Tees.” These footstools were often designed to sit under and in between the legs of wingback armchairs.

Good condition, solid and sturdy frames with good colour and patina. Some wear to the needlework seats, with some small sections of beadwork missing. Wear and marks commensurate with age.
