Circa 1835, pair of William IV mahogany armchairs. The backs have a deep curve and paper folds with wonderfully selected mahogany. The arms come out of the back and on each side are a pair of capitols which are split. The arms come down and finish on a lovely scroll. The uprights for the arms have a capitol which is embedded in a wonderful scrolling, snail-like upright. The chairs are covered in red leather, have a simple rail at the front, elegantly turned legs at the front and swept legs at the back. The chairs also have a very interesting profile. Excellent colour and condition.
