Pair Of Pole Screens With Floral Needle Work
An excellent pair of William 1V period mahogany pole screens in completely original condition. The screens have very pretty needlework floral pictures in mahogany frames, these are in untouched, original condition both front and back, complete with their original brass fittings which enable them to be adjusted in height The upper section of the stands have turned poles which support the screens, these fit into well carved barley twist columns, below these they have circular tulip style carved platform bases terminating in three small carved feet. There are a few old signs of fraying and staining in the silk backing to the needlework, but considering their original state, the condition, which is strong and stable, is very good. Sizes Stands 56”(142cms) high, 13”(33cms) diameter at base. Screens 18”(46cms) wide, 18”(46cms)high. Date circa 1830.
I have been in the antiques business since 1962, starting in the family business in Staffordshire.
In the early 1970’s I moved to Hertfordshire where I opened my own business and created a limited company.
Today, my business is carried out via the internet. Any successful antiques business, and particularly mine, remains a way of life and a hobby, it continues to give me enormous enjoyment and satisfaction.
I hope this is reflected by my commitment to a very high quality of service which I have always given over the years. I prefer to deliver sold items in person where possible to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
I source my stock through many contacts built up over the years. This continues to consist of carefully chosen high quality 17th 18th and 19th century of furniture, particularly specialising in articles with their own fine original colour and also many interesting smaller items of the same periods.
I am always very happy to answer any questions or queries that you might have, This is part of the service that I am delighted to give.
