Circa 1815, rare pair of Gillows of Lancaster style, mahogany stools recently covered in hand-dyed, green deep-buttoned leather upholstery with brass studding. The stools with unusual concave sides and deep seat rails are supported on classical Gillows tapering fluted legs with ring turning over raised toes. From Alnwick Castle, Northumberland, Duke of Northumberland’s residence – with restorations.
