Pair of Liberty & Co Design Moorish Tables
An attractive pair of small octagonal Moorish side tables inlaid with mother of pearl and exotic woods and attributed to the retailer Liberty & Co. They have a chequered design inlay in panels around the sides, with triangular inserts and Islamic script set into the tops. They will make a great addition to any home and might work well in a conservatory for plants, or in a lounge with an eastern flavour interior.
Dating to the turn of the 20th century, circa 1900, these are made of wood and mother of pearl, and originate from the UK.
In generally good age related condition, some of the mother of pearl inlay pieces are missing, including much of that from the central script on the tops. There are some chips to the wood and the veneer, particularly around the tops of the bases and the feet. The tables are structurally sound.
