Pair Of George III Sterling Silver Salts c.1770 18th century Georgian ball and claw %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
An outstanding pair of George III period silver salts, fully hallmarked for Edward Lowe, London, 1770. An identical example can be found in The Met museum collection.

Edward Lowe was a small silver maker active from 1770-1777.

The salts are exquisitely made with a fine foliate design, rope twist borders and four ball and claw feet. Both cellars boast thick snugly fitting handblown blue glass liners, full of bubbles and character.

There are some small signs of wear commensurate with age, most notably a small historic repair to the back of one cellar (please see photographs), but generally both cellars remain in a very good attractive condition.
