Pair of Art Deco Silver Salt Spoons - W. Hutton-1931
This is a very stylish pair of Art Deco Sterling Silver Salt Spoons. The spoons are made in Sheffield by renowned silversmiths William Hutton & Sons Ltd and date to 1931. William Hutton founded the firm in Birmingham in 1800, relocating to Sheffield in 1832. The company was hugely successful and remained in the hands of the Hutton family until the early 1930s when they were taken over by James Dixon & Sons.
These Art Deco salt spoons have an incredibly modern look to them and would grace any dining table today. They can be used for salt, ground pepper or any table sauces or condiments. They would also be a great addition to any spoon collection.
Condition is extremely good. There are no dings or dents and only the absolute minimum of surface wear. They appear to have had very little use over the years or been very well looked after. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Each spoon is 8.5cm / 3.4" long and the pair together weigh 11.4g / 0.4oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks, on the underside of the bowls, are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the date letter "o" for 1931 and the distinctive WH & Ss Ld makers' mark for William Hutton & Sons Ltd.
Shipping in the UK is £4 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For.
