Pair of Antique Lancashire Country Armchairs

These Georgian country house chairs have the original rush seat, raised on turned legs and bulbous shaped turned cross stretchers. Both armchairs have a wonderful patina and rich colour.
This design of chair was originally made in the Lancashire and Cheshire region of the North West of England, thus commonly known as a Lancashire chair. They are heavy and well built and were intended for use in the kitchens of country homes.
These chairs are well constructed, solid in joint, sit firm on the ground and are ready to use. Both rush seats are original and comfortable.
Overall, this pair of ladder back elbow chairs with turned spindles are in excellent, strong condition.
