Pair of 1969 Investiture Chairs. %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A rare pair of the famous red chairs produced for the investiture ceremony of the Prince of Wales at Caernarfon castle on July 1st 1969. Striking mid-century modern design, in vermillion stained beech and bent plywood, the gilded three feathers motif is cleverly impressed onto the back rest to prevent wear to the fininsh. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. With a very small repair to the top edge of one chair and retaining their original seat covers with only minor wear. Clear stamps to the underside.
Dimensions width 21″, depth 21″, height 28.
