Outstanding Small 4ft Welsh Oak Potboard Dresser
Sometimes you just have to say “Wow”. It has been a very long time since we have seen a dresser with colour as spectacular as this jaw dropping example which absolutely glows.
A super rare and very sweet little Welsh oak Pot-board cottage dresser of under 4ft in length from the Carmarthenshire/Cardiganshire border in West Wales c1760.
A breathtakingly beautiful example of a traditional West Wales dresser renown for their simple beauty created by perfect proportions, quality timber and unique understated look. This is without doubt the prettiest example of a dresser from this region that we have seen in a long while. The cut and character of the oak is truly special.
Having been professionally restored in recent years to a very high standard with minor quality repairs to the drawer fronts and legs the condition is superb and the colour, patina and skin are breathtaking.
With perfect proportions and standing at full original height, is superbly solid and sturdy and stands level and true. The drawers retain their original brass handles and all run smoothly and are all clean inside.
A better example of a Welsh dresser of its type would be hard to find, a superb dresser indeed.
Length 3ft 10” = 117cm. Height 187cm. Base Height 85cm. Base Depth 45cm. Maximum width at very top of cornice 126cm. Shelf Depth 12cm
This lovely dresser comes in two parts for easy transportation.
