Oak Framed Glastonbury Chair
A 19th Century Victorian Gothic style oak framed Glastonbury Chair.
Based on the design made for Richard Whitihg the last Abbot of Glastonbury, who is said to have sat on one during his trial at Bishop’s Palace, Wells. Two of the original surviving examples can still be seen there.
In good antique condition with an old repair to arm (see photo).
