Oak & Mahogany Longcase Clock John Pearce Stratfor
The antique clock has an 8-day movement striking hourly on a bell. The 12” arch dial has Roman numerals and a seconds ring, painted and gilded with floral corners. The trunk has a crossbanded door with an inlaid shell to the centre, and a mahogany panel above and below bordered with an inlaid banding. The base is also crossbanded on the outside with another inboard crossbanding. The hood has a mahogany swan-neck pediment. To either side of the hood there are fluted columns with turned wooden capitals and also fluted quarter columns down the trunk.
