Oak 8 Day Longcase Grandfather Clock
very handsome oak longcase grandfather antique clock by John Nicholson of Berwick Upon Tweed circa 1835.
swan neck pediment hood with inlay and mahogany detailing and lovely painted face depicting nesting birds and floral and gilt detail, date dial and subsidiary seconds dials, the case with reeded canted corners, mahogany inlay detail and ebony stringing to the door.
the eight day movement strikes the hour on a bell and is in good working order.
normal signs of age but overall this super clock is in good condition and really is not done justice by the photographs.
