This vintage powder compact is suitable for use with modern loose & solid / pressed face powder or as a handbag mirror.
A glorious unused Melissa convertible powder compact in superb condition. The lid is satinized - very beautiful with enamel flowers & foliage. The whole lid is lacquered to create the most beautiful finish which is also protective & has ensured the super condition of this compact mirror. There isn't any loss of design. The edges, base & interior too are in an unused condition. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror is excellent & gives an accurate reflection. The mirror bezel is engraved 'Made in England' in elegant script. The powder well still has the pristine protective waxed paper insert. The original puff & card edged sifter are in place. The base is decorated with bold & fine circular bands. In the middle the compact is signed 'MELISSA Made in England' & the Melissa trademark crown is engraved in a central cartouche. The original high quality felt lined pouch comes with this purchase & will ensure the continuing excellent condition of this compact.
This vintage powder compact measures 7.1 cm & weighs 63.8 grams.
