Miniature Engraved Gorge Porcelain Carriage clock
This is an extremely rare and beautiful engraved gorge miniature timepiece carriage antique clock with hand painted porcelain panels in wonderful original condition and complete with its original travelling case.
Rarely do exceptional pieces such as this appear on the open market as they are generally cherished in collections although I doubt that there are many of the quality of this particular antique clock.
My clock is sold with the movement serviced by a member of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers and is entrusted with all our servicing and repairs.
I have included a selection of photographs that accurately represent the item , one of which shows the scale next to a standard size repeating carriage clock.
The porcelain panels are in perfect unrestored condition
The clock is of French manufacture dating from the last half of the 19th Century. It retains its original gilding to the beautifully engraved case and platform escapement . The movement has a running duration of 8 days and is of the very finest quality , probably made by Drocourt ,who are known to have supplied their wares to the prestige stores of Tiffany and this example was sold through their New York branch. At the time it was protocol for their suppliers not to use makers marks and stamps for goods supplied to the very high class Victorian retailers . I have owned several miniature carriage antique clocks by Drocourt over the years and this movement is identical to those.
The clock is 97 mm tall with the handle raised (80mm with handle down), 50mm wide. The depth is 43 mm.
It has obviously been well cared for and cherished all its life. There is one tiny "pearl missing on the dial at 9 o'clock which is the only area of detriment , otherwise the clock is in mint condition for its age
This is a genuine and original clock and I offer a full money back guarantee to this end.
It is very unlikely indeed that a carriage clock of this type will appear on the open market in the foreseeable future.
If a prospective purchaser wishes to contact me directly my contact details are at the bottom of the listing.
UK buyers are asked to use alternative means of payment to Pay Pal if at all possible.
If the asking price is paid in full I will provide a 12 months guarantee and ship the clock for free worldwide.

I will ship this clock worldwide and we are experienced in this process
