Mid Century Ministry of Defence Oak Writing Table
A mid century Ministry of Defence oak writing table with brown inset writing surface. Dated 1961 to the underside along with the marking “U.K.A.E.A.”, the desk was commissioned for the UK Atomic Energy Authority whose role was overseeing the UK’s nuclear programme and it was manufactured by Staverton who were, and still are, known for producing quality office antique furniture.
The piece is finished on all sides so can be used in the centre of a room. Very good condition, structurally all solid with some good aged wear and patina.
