Stylish mid 19th.c. French marble top centre table or gueridon c.1860. At just 35″ diameter this is slightly smaller that many we see. Exceptionally well figured black marble top with highly contrasting veins and a slighlty raised edge designed to prevent spilt drinks from running off the sides. With a mahogany veneered apron and raised on a hexagonal baluster form pedestal and tripod base with matched flame mahogany veneers and particularly nice scroll carved detail. Raised on carved claw feet with brass castors below. With a repair to the marble (well hidden in the grain), some wear and repairs to the veneers, otherwise excellent colour and condition. Cleaned and polished in our workshops.
