Very handsome set of late 19th.c. bathroom scales by the top quality London antique furniture makers and retailers Maple & Co. c.1890. Mechanism by the British scale makers Salter. 10″ glazed dial with chromed pointer. Raised on a splendid cast iron column with Regency style papyrus leaf detail top and bottom and an anthemion motif on the rear. Moulded plinth holds the balance plate. In working condition, the scales will weigh up to 20 stone. Later over painted in cream and gold. Minor wear to the paint, otherwise excellent condition.
Dimensions: height 68″, width 12″, depth 24″.
