Mahogany Open Bookcase

Circa 1900, quality mahogany open bookcase with three sections. The solid top with its square edge and ogee mouldings beneath, over a simple apron of polished mahogany with small blocks which indicate the different sections. There are four flat pilasters which have fielded panels on solid mahogany. The gables have mahogany panels also, and a slight overlap to compensate for skirting boards so the bookcase can sit flush against the wall. Each section has three shelves which are mahogany faced, polished and adjustable. Beneath the bottom of the bookcase is a nice shaped moulding, an apron with quarter brackets and the whole piece stands on six square tapering legs with tassel toes. Excellent colour and good condition. Sturdy and functional.
