A 19th.Century flame mahogany library steps / step commode. The 3 steps with gilt tooled treads, the lower ogee shaped section slides forward to reveal the original white pottery chamber pot and turned mahogany cover. The 3rd.lidded step lifts to a void storage compartment. In very good usable condition as library steps but originally used to ascend high Victorian 4 poster beds.
