Mahogany Elliott Chiming Grandmother Clock
Stunning Mahogany cased Elliott Westminster Chiming Grandmother Clock with removable hood and opening long front door on sweet feet.
Beautiful case and Good Quality 8 Day Movement, Regulated by a long wooden pendulum. One of the best We have ever seen.
This was acquired privately and apparently had been in the family for around 42 years. Gifted to them by a Miss Webster of the Burton Retail Shops in Birmingham. She had owned it for around 40 years making this antique clock originate from around 1933. This is quie possible but without the storey I would err on the side of caution and say "late 40s - early 50s but pre 1954 as that is when Elliott introduced their "automatic silence over night" and regulation of time by platform suspension and not pendulum.
