Superb quality late 19th.c. walnut settle originally produced for a branch of the Liverpool Union Bank. The bank’s crest is beautifully carved onto the centre panel, complete with Liver birds and 1835, the date of the bank’s founding. Molded top, scrolled arms and panelled sides. Lift up seats afford useful storage inside. Restrained and elegant design, sturdy construction of quality timber, this is antique furniture that reflects the conservative nature of a bank who took 42 years to open it’s first branch. Beautiful colour and condition, restored and repolished in our workshops.
