A French gorge cased striking & repeating carriage antique clock signed' Le Roy & Fils, Palais Royale'. A good quality case with concave front and rear columns. A stepped base panel and large glass top aperture. An enamel dial with blued steel 'moon' hands and 5 minute outer markers. A subsidiary alarm dial and a finely engraved gilded mask. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a gong signed by maker. Numbered 1812. The original lever escapement. Circa 1885.
