A Charming and unusually large Sampler by Mary Emma Wheatcroft of Chesterfield, dated 1875, in good fresh condition with slight wear & tear commensurate with age (see photos). Surrounding the house are beautifully worked flowers, birds and butterflies, with the delightful first verse of text as follows
"My home, My own dear Home
It is a happy place
Where smiles of love are seen
On each dear familiar face",
and above, the usual beautifully detailed letters of the alphabet and numerals, inside a very pretty patterned border.
