Large Silver Plate Corinthian Carriage Clock
A substantial French carriage antique clock, dating to around 1900. It has a Corinthian style case, with a Greek key handle comprising of a silver plated twisted section that is matched in the side columns. The reeded bands are also silver plated. It has an enamel dial with Roman numerals and five minute markers and moon hands. The top has a repeat button to sound the last hour (used to indicate the time in the dark). It has a 8 day movement with a lever platform that sounds the hours and halves on a gong.The movement is numbered 229.
Current Condition
The case has been polished and lacquered so that it will not tarnish, the movement has been fully serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months. The antique clock comes complete with a brass double ended carriage clock key and full instructions. If you would like a video clip of this clock striking please email us.
