Circa 1860. An unusual and large-scale lidded copper box, (could be used as a jardinière for coal or logs). The domed top with lifting handle held in place by rivets, to the side there are two large cast handles with back plates and several proud rivets on one side, the other side with a pleated and folded copper which forms the seal, rounded corners and a solid copper base, to the underside there are the remnants of the original feet.
