A large and impressive, well proportioned red boulle tortoishell inlaid mantel/table antique clock. Gilt ormolu mounts with inlay to the case front and ebonised case sides. A well cast gilt dial with individual Roman numerals cartouches and blued steel hands. A convex glass to the cast opening front bezel. A rococo case mount to the pediment. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a gong. Circa 1890.
