Fabulous large framed embroidery panel of an Indian wedding procession. Bride and groom mounted on an elephant proceeded by a procession of figures variously praying, proclaiming from a scroll and banging a large drum carried between two of the figures. The scene is surrounded by stylised lion figures. Animal and human figures are padded to stand proud of the background with the design and detail outlined in coloured cord much of it incorporating a gold or silver thread to catch the light and in-filled with hundreds of silver sequins. The surrounding border features scores of red glass beads and further sequins and glass beads stud the black ground. Presented behind glass in a gilded wooden frame.
